Japan Scholar lecture was held at IIT-Hyderabad and IIT-Madras

Prof. Kazuhiro Takanabe (Graduate School of Engineering, 500²ÊƱÍø), gave a lecture and interacted with students of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Hyderabad and IIT Madras in Hyderabad and Madras, India respectively.

On March 3, IIT Hyderabad hosted an on-campus event called “IITH Science Talk”, where around 35 students and faculty from the Department of Materials Science and Metallurgical Engineering and the Department of Chemical attended the lecture given by Prof. Takanabe on the theme “Disruptive innovation of catalysts and catalytic systems desired for future energy supply”. He also introduced the Graduate School of Engineering at 500²ÊƱÍø, sharing information on the ratio of international students in the Graduate School of Engineering, scholarships, the admissions system, Japanese language courses, career support programs, and more to about 50 students who asked many questions, showing their interest in studying in Japan.
On March 4, a lecture on “Electrolyte Engineering for Efficient Green Hydrogen Production” was given to about 30 students and faculty members of the Department of Chemical Engineering at IIT Madras. The lecture was followed by an opportunity to exchange views with the students who had a high evaluation of our research and interest in Japan. Through the discussion, Prof. Takanabe found that many of them were realistic about their career paths.
In the future, we will utilize the network cultivated through the Japan Scholar Program to enhance faculty-student collaboration and researchers’ exchange throughout the faculties.
